According to the data collected by DocsApp, at least 45 per cent of the cases received in the year 2019, pertained to males between the age group of 20-30 while female cases only made up 16 per cent for the same age group.
Today is World Sleep Day, and with an increased awareness of the role good sleep plays in keeping fit and fine, now is a good time to take stock of how well rested you are.

Apparently, if you are an Indian man in the age group of 20 - 30, most likely you are not.

More Indian males between the age group of 20-30 years are found to be suffering from a sleep disorder, as per data compiled by DocsApp – a digital medical consultation platform.


According to the data collected by DocsApp, at least 45 per cent of the cases received in the year 2019, pertained to males between the age group of 20-30 while female cases only made up 16 per cent for the same age group.

According to the the data assimilated by DocsApp, since the start of 2020, in the same age group the percentage of male cases have marginally tilted upwards to 46 per cent while female cases have seen a 13 per cent drop.

Popularly called as `Nidranash’ in the local dialect, this disorder is increasingly becoming rampant as an outcome of rising urbanization and stressful lifestyle, according to experts at DocsApp. The five most common sleep disorders are Insomnia, Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy, Restless Legs Syndrome and REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder.

According to findings of the World Health Organization, lack of good-quality sleep leading to various sleep disorders increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Tech solutions like meditation apps and sleep trackers are new age solutions to an age old problem. And certainly worth a shot.
