Right from our childhood, we are taught that success comes only through hard work, constant pressure, and relentless effort. Students are encouraged to study hard for academic achievement. This mindset can carry into professional life, where employees are expected to work tirelessly to achieve career growth and financial stability. Over time, this continuous pressure leads to stress, burnout, and dissatisfaction, turning us into complaining adults who can’t even take the slightest inconvenience. Now, Sadhguru has shared his knowledge on the matter in a video on Instagram.

Sadhguru on hard work

In the clip, Sadhguru talked about how people are overly-focused on doing everything the ‘hard’ way. The spiritual leader revealed that parents urge their children to study hard for good scores. Similarly, professionals often push themselves to the limit by working hard, trying to prove their worth and elevate their workplace value. This pattern continues across generations without anyone seeing any problem with it.

According to Sadhguru, this ‘hard work’ mindset, when applied forcefully, makes us complain about everything in life, regardless of the matter. He urged everyone to shift their thinking for ultimate productivity and success. Sadhguru advised individuals to ‘study joyfully’ and ‘work lovingly’, because until you love your work, nothing good can come out of it.

Explaining the concept further through substantial medical and scientific evidence, Sadhguru shared the importance of your body and mind being aligned. He pointed out that only when we are in a pleasant and content state of mind, our work activities improve and we tend to perform better at whatever we are doing — be it preparing for an examination in school or delivering a pitch-perfect presentation at work.
