After creating a massive buzz in theatres and later on OTT, Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now gearing up for its television premiere. Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the spy thriller is returning to the spotlight with a fresh television certification and changes to its runtime. But given the film’s intense action and violent scenes, its TV version is expected to look different from the one audiences watched in theatres.

Dhurandhar 2 TV premiere: When and where to watch?

Dhurandhar 2 will officially premiere on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 7 PM on Star Gold. The television broadcast comes months after the film’s theatrical release and its subsequent OTT run. With the movie having created a strong impact at the box office, its television ratings will now be closely watched.

The film has already had a successful theatrical run and made its way to OTT, but its television premiere gives it another opportunity to reach a wider audience.

The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, along with Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in important roles. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie is a high-octane spy action thriller.

Why has the TV version been edited?

The television version is expected to be majorly different in terms of some of its scenes. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the makers were asked to make around 45–50 cuts before the film could be aired on television.

A source quoted by the publication said that, "Almost all the modifications pertained to the extremely violent and gory scenes" and added that the disturbing portions were edited in a way that the makers could retain the essence and overall impact of the movie.

The original theatrical version had received an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). It had a runtime of 3 hours, 49 minutes and 6 seconds, or around 229.6 minutes. It remains to be seen how much of the original runtime will be retained for the television broadcast.

What changes did the CBFC make earlier?

The film had also undergone changes before its TV premiere. According to an earlier Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC had asked the makers to remove around 94 seconds of footage before granting the film its ‘A’ certificate.

Some abusive words were also reportedly replaced or muted. Despite these changes, the film continued to attract attention for its intense action and graphic violence.

The film reportedly collected around Rs 1,149 crore net in India, while its overseas earnings stood at approximately Rs 438 crore. The movie did not release in several Gulf countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.

With its worldwide collection, Dhurandhar: The Revenge became one of the biggest Hindi blockbusters ever. It reportedly stands behind Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which earned around Rs 2,070 crore worldwide, with its China release contributing significantly to its global total.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge features Ranveer Singh in the lead, with Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi among the key cast members. Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande have produced the film, while Shashwat Sachdev has composed its music.
