Dhanteras special: Anand Mahindra explains 'true meaning' of wealth, Vedanta boss vows to support local artisans

People are gearing up to celebrate Diwali with a bang after two years of muted festivities due to the pandemic. With new clothes, grand get-togethers and no Covid curbs, everyone is excited for the long Diwali weekend.

Ahead of the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, businessman Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to wish his 9.9 million followers prosperity and peace of mind.

With a Hindi poem, the Mahindra Group Chairman prayed for abundant wealth and no troubles. He also said that the 'true meaning of wealth' cannot be determined with gold or silver alone. The ones who find peace of mind, pray for people's goodwill and are able to help others have something more valuable than gold and silver.

On Diwali this year, Vedanta Resources Limited Chairman Anil Agarwal vowed to support local artisans. He also asked people to share details so he could reach out to the artisans and buy gifts from them for his family.

"This Diwali, I'm trying to put some light on the lives of our local artisans who are doing great and unique work. If you know one, please do share details in your reply… (I) would love to show my support for them and will get gifts for my family from the products they make," his tweet read.

Edelweiss Mutual Fund MD and CEO Radhika Gupta also shared a sweet Diwali moment on social media. The AMC boss indulged in some delicious Nirula's hot chocolate fudge in Mumbai on Saturday. The chain is currently only available in Delhi.

In her tweet, she wrote, "Diwali made sweeter with the awesomeness of hot chocolate fudge from my childhood. Finally! Thanks, Nirula's for this treat!"
