Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev was praised by Indian PM Narendra Modi for his simplicity in last weekend's segment of his show.

The US Open was a low to high flight experience for runner up Daniil Medvedev. The Russian tennis player found a mention in Prime Minster of India, Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' address a few days ago. Modi felt the speech after his loss showed maturity as well simplicity on the part of the World No 4.

Here is what the 23-year-old said in his speech, "I want to congratulate Rafa, 19th Grand Slam title is something unbelievable, outrageous." He went on to congratulate the Spaniard's team and the work they are doing. And even admitted it is tough to play Rafael Nadal.

"They were saying No1, No2, No19. I was wondering if I win, what will they show?" he said which had the crowd laughing. Medvedev went on to laud Nadal for inspiring young kids to play the sport and his contribution to tennis.
