It’s going to be a busy few months for India’s U-19 World Cup winning captain, Prithvi Shaw. But it’s mostly going to be off the field. The fervour around the football World Cup has got the young cricketer excited too, to root for his all-time favourite, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He is a great player; I like his game and his fitness. I keep watching videos of his workouts. They are quote inspiring,” Shaw told ETPanache.
Soon after the World Cup ends, Shaw will bid goodbye to the Portugal colours and wave the Indian tricolour to cheer for our contingent at the Asian Games (to be held in August) in Indonesia.
Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu Ask him about his favourites at the Games, Shaw says that badminton stars PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth are his best bets.
“I got to meet them both [Sindhu and Kidambi] recently. There is so much to learn from them. They are an inspiration to me how to be a good sports star, how to always be on top,” he said.
