The CEO’s decision was met with applause—because he didn’t just stop at denying the sick leaves
If you were one of those employees, who schemed to get a sick leave approved on August 16 to enjoy an extended holiday, imagine the surprise of those who didn’t even have to ask! With August 15 off for Independence Day and a long weekend ahead, many were crafting the perfect excuse to secure a day off on the 16th, hoping to enjoy five days of bliss. But at Dot Media, the CEO had something else in mind.

In a twist that left employees grinning instead of groaning, the CEO took to LinkedIn with a bold announcement: “On the occasion of 'World Sick Leave Day,' we at Dot Media have decided to reject all sick leave requests!” It was the kind of statement that could have sparked a backlash, but what happened next was far from expected.

Job seekers quickly inquired about vacancies, with one user quipping, “Wow!! Amazing job done! Interview ke liye kab aau?” The CEO, not missing a beat, invited them to send in their CVs.

So, what was the post about? The Dot Media CEO, Shubham Singhal wrote, “We’ve decided to close our office and give all our employees a well-deserved holiday! The day corporates start valuing what their employees need, nothing can stop them from putting forth their best. Because at Dot Media, our people come first, and their well-being drives our innovation,”

The response to the post was immediate and overwhelmingly positive. One LinkedIn user commented, “It's truly great for employees, and they will appreciate it. I'm glad that new-age founders and management are changing how things used to be.” Another praised the move, saying, “Love this, Shubham Singhal... It’s all about people. No company can run without its employees. They are the backbone, and gestures like these keep them motivated and driven.”
