Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan -starrer ‘GodFather’ unbeatable at the box-office, earns Rs 69 cr in 2 days
According to trade analysts, the film has a surprisingly strong word-of-mouth publicity.

‘GodFather’ continues its dream run at the box-office. Although the Chiranjeevi-Salman Khan starrer witnessed a slight dip in the box-office collections on the second day, it continues to be steady at the BO.
The Telugu political thriller which amassed a whopping Rs 38 crore on the first day, minted about Rs 31 crore (worldwide) on its second day. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the two-day collections have come to an impressive Rs 69.1 cr. Taking to Twitter, the film trade analyst made a rather exuberant post about the film.
“TERRIFIC Day 2 for #GodFather. 2nd day WW gross : 31 crore. Total 2 days WW gross: 69 crore +. Going Super Solid with tremendous WOM ( word of mouth) everywhere. #BlockbusterGodFather “, said the post.
In the North Indian market though, the BO collection has been modest. The dubbed version (Hindi) of the film collected close to Rs 2.25 cr on the first day. While such a figure is not bad for a dubbed movie, expectations were undoubtedly higher due to the ‘Bhai’ factor.
Directed by Mohan Raja and co-produced by Ram Charan along with R B Choudary and N V Prasad, the movie is an official remake of the 2019 political thriller ‘Lucifer’ starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
Khan reportedly did not charge any fee for this movie. Chiranjeevi recently revealed that the superstar refused to take money from the producers, claiming that they can’t buy his love for the ‘Acharya’ star. Khan, apparently, did not even listen to the script and told the producers to share details about his character in the film.
As positive reviews poured in for the movie, Khan took to Instagram and made an emotional post. “My dear Chiru Garu, I love you and I heard that Godfather is doing really well. Congrats and God bless you. You know why, Chiru Garu? Kyuki iss desh aur iss desh ki janta mein hai bada dum, vande mataram" , (Because the audience of this country is very powerful) said the ‘Dabangg’ star.
