Running late for work on busy mornings often forces us to skip breakfast entirely or settle for convenient, low-nutrient options like sugar-laden cereals or plain buttered toast. Consequently, these quick fixes fail to meet our daily protein goals. The challenge doubles for vegetarians, who frequently face limited high-protein options on the go. Fortunately, actress and wellness enthusiast Soha Ali Khan recently shared an easy, protein-packed vegetarian oats recipe designed specifically for rushed mornings. This nutritious breakfast takes just minutes to prepare, offering a hassle-free solution to kickstart your day without compromising on vital health benefits.

According to Soha Ali Khan, protein plays an essential role in preserving muscle mass, physical strength, bone density, immune function, and overall healthy ageing—benefits that become increasingly critical as we grow older. She emphasizes that boosting your daily protein intake requires neither complex culinary skills nor hours spent cooking. Instead, this simple, high-protein vegetarian dish relies on basic ingredients and minimal preparation to deliver wholesome nourishment in a matter of minutes

Vegetarian oats: Ingredients required

20–25 g rolled oats

25–30 g pea protein powder (1 scoop)

1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 tsp chia seeds

Water or unsweetened nut or plant milk, as needed

Vegetarian oats: How to make

To prepare the vegetarian oats, first add the oats to a pan with water or plant-based milk and cook on low heat for 3–5 minutes, until soft. After that, you have to turn off the heat and let it cool slightly. This step will help to prevent the protein powder from clumping.

In the next step, slowly stir the pea protein powder until it becomes smooth and creamy. Then, you have to mix the hemp, chia, and flax seeds. For toppings, add the berries and chopped walnuts or macadamia nuts. Finish it off with cinnamon. And voila! Your tasty and healthy vegetarian oats are ready to be savoured.
