After four years, BTS is officially back! Global K-pop sensation has returned as a group with their fifth studio album ARIRANG, marking one of the most anticipated comebacks in recent music history. The album, released today, features 14 tracks, led by the emotional title song SWIM and its cinematic music video. The release has already made history on Spotify, where ARIRANG crossed 5 million pre-saves, the highest ever recorded for an Asian act on the platform.

BTS is back!

The comeback is particularly huge as it reunites the seven members after nearly four years of group inactivity. During this period, the members focused on solo albums and completed their mandatory military service, making ARIRANG a symbolic new beginning for both BTS and their fans, known as ARMY.

Within minutes of its release, the title track SWIM began trending across social media platforms, with listeners praising its powerful vocals, emotional storytelling and cinematic visuals. Many fans described the song as one of BTS’ most heartfelt tracks to date.

On X (formerly Twitter), fans shared emotional reactions, with several calling SWIM the 'song of the year'. One user wrote that the track made them unexpectedly emotional, adding that the group’s voices and the storyline left a lasting impact.

Another fan said watching the music video was an emotional rollercoaster, noting that they found themselves laughing and crying at the same time because of how moving the visuals were. A third fan praised the song’s production and visuals, saying the music video felt like a short film.

The music video for SWIM tells a symbolic story set on a ship in the middle of the sea. It shows a woman who is struggling and feeling lost. The members of BTS appear beside her, quietly supporting and guiding her forward. In the end, she breaks free from a tight necklace, showing her strength and freedom. The story reflects themes of hope, healing and starting a new journey, much like BTS’s own return after years away.

Hollywood actor Lili Reinhart makes a special appearance in the video. The visual spectacle is directed by renowned filmmaker Tanu Muino, known for her cinematic and stylised storytelling.
