While Hrithik Roshan (left) expressed his disappointment over the protests, Varun Dhawan (right) did not pick sides.
Four days after the violent protests broke in the National Capital and several other parts of the country over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Bollywood stars are still taking to Twitter to voice their opinion on the current state of affairs. Actor Varun Dhawan and Hrithik Roshan are the latest celebs to voice their opinions on the much-debated issue.
Hrithik Roshan expressed his concerns over the raging protests on the microblogging site, writing “I am deeply saddened by the unrest across various educational institutions of our country”. Varun Dhawan, on the other hand, was highly diplomatic and non-committal in his response, saying, I am trying to be ‘responsible’ in what I say.

Hrithik Roshan hoped and prayed for peace to return as soon as possible and ended his tweet by saying, ‘I salute the world’s youngest democracy’.
Varun Dhawan said that he did not take a stand on the nationwide protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act because as a public figure, he wants to be ‘responsible’ with his statement.
The actor said many versions about the protests are being reported and it would be wrong to express an opinion on the subject when one is in doubt.
Speaking at the trailer launch of the upcoming film ‘Street Dancer 3D’, he said "We are sitting here in Mumbai, right now something else is happening in other parts of the country. It's wrong of us to comment about what's happening over there until we don't see that, until we are 100 per cent aware what's happening."

Actor Sushant Singh was recently in the news because he had taken to the streets to participate in the protests. He later hinted that his views may have cost him his hosting gig in a TV channel.
When asked about the silence of Bollywood personalities on the issue, Sushant said "Maybe people who are not speaking about it, they don't have any issues with it. Why should we wait for someone to speak up? In which country stars have brought revolution? It is only the youth or the common man." (With inputs from PTI)
