Even as celebrities continued to question the Citizenship Amendment Act and its aftermath, it was Bollywood’s King Khan who managed to wade himself in the midst of this controversy. Shah Rukh Khan, by virtue of having pursued mass communication at the Jamia Milia Institute in the late ’80s, is considered among star alumnus. And on Tuesday, it was this association that triggered (yet, another) tweet row.

The 54-year-old actor was questioned by a few blue-ticked Twitter celebs, and ordinary members of Twitterati alike, for practising the ‘silence is golden’ philosophy. Among those who asked why King Khan was silent were theatre veteran Roshan Abbas and writer Aatish Taseer. The duo who are alumni themselves, expressed surprise at no tweet from SRK, and asked if he is terrified of the Government.

Abbas, while reiterating that he stands with Jamia students, asked SRK about who had made him so quiet.

Taseer, on the other hand, seemed both upset and surprised. He claimed that SRK's silence is a 'scandal' and went on to assume that the actor is terrified of the government, which should be terrifying for his fans and followers as well.

The 'Zero' actor, however, has not responded to either yet.

Meanwhile, actor Farhan Akhtar, who recently got into a spat with a Twitter user for a comment on his community, took to the micro-blogging platform to announce that he is now going to take the protest off social media. On Twitter, the actor revealed that he will be at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai on Thursday to protest against CAA.

On Sunday, three days of peaceful demonstration in New Delhi against CAA turned into a war zone where protestors set a DTC bus and two police vehicles on fire and the Delhi Police retaliated with batons and tear gas.

Leaving 60 injured, the police then moved to Jamia campus without permission where they allegedly used tear gas in the library and beat up protestors before sealing university gates.

CAA became a part of the Indian Constitution on December 11 after being passed by the Rajya Sabha.

SRK manages to impress not just fans but international celebrities as well. Be it Angelina Jolie at IIFA Awards in 2000 or Lady Gaga at an interview in 2012, the actor knows how to make a mark.

And now, American talk-show host David Letterman is the latest addition to this list. Appearing on Letterman’s talk show, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’, SRK was quick to win him over.

Having stayed away from the screen since his last outing, ‘Zero’, SRK’s appearance on the show was termed by many as his ‘Diwali release’.

The candid tete-a-tete between the two men was full of candour and humorous banter. The episode also showed the superstar’s vulnerable side as he talked about his mother, the loss of his parents and how he fell in love with Gauri Khan.

Needless to say, everyone on Twitterverse appreciated the actor for being his usual fun self, and the episode was an instant hit with fans.
