Blackbuck case: Salman to spend another night in jail; court to pronounce order on Saturday
The judge has reserved the order and will announce it tomorrow.
Earlier, the actor's lawyers, in their defence, had claimed that eyewitness accounts were unreliable, and therefore the punishment to the actor is harsh. The lawyers had also cited acquittal in other cases in the 51-page bail plea submitted in court. The actor's sisters were present in court while the arguments were being presented, while Khan stayed in prison.
Meanwhile, Times Now earlier reported that his lawyer, Mahesh Bora ,claimed to have received threat calls last night. He alleged that the calls were made from Dubai and Australia, and were purportedly done by the Ravi Pujari gang, asking him to leave the case.
Earlier, on Thursday, the court had sentenced the actor to a 5-year prison term in the 1998 blackbuck killing case. He was also slapped with a penalty of Rs 10,000. However, his co-stars from the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' - during the shoot of which the blackbucks killing took place - Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam walked free.
