Bill Gates goes on a breezy e-rickshaw ride; Mahindra boss proposes friendly ‘30-wheeler EV drag race’

Microsoft founder Bill Gates was seen riding the Mahindra e-rickshaw Treo with the famous Kishore Kumar song ‘Babu Samjho Ishare’ from the movie ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gari’ playing in the background.

The billionaire shared the video on his Instagram account. He also gushed about India’s spirit for innovation and praised Mahindra & Mahindra for doing their bit to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment. "India’s passion for innovation never ceases to amaze. I drove an electric rickshaw, capable of traveling up to 131 km (about 81 miles) and carrying up to 4 people. It’s inspiring seeing companies like Mahindra contribute to the decarbonization of the transportation industry, “ wrote Gates. The clip quickly went viral on Instagram and gained over 77K likes.

Mahindra boss Anand Mahindra shared the clip on his Instagram handle and challenged the Microsoft founder to a “three-wheeler drag race” between himself, Gates, and Sachin Tendulkar. “So glad you found the time to check out the Treo @BillGates Now on your next trip, the agenda should be a 3-wheeler EV drag race between you, @sachin_rt, and me... "he wrote.
The tweet amassed more than 410K views and more than 8K likes. Many Twitter users left positive comments under the post. “Really proud of you and your team, sir, who make India third in the auto industry,“ wrote a user. Another commented. Gates, who was recently on a trip to India, hit the headlines for his interaction with PM Narendra Modi, Ratan Tata, and his Harvard classmate Anand Mahindra.
