Bengaluru techie, a Miss Universe India finalist, cheerfully resumes work at Google days after failing to bag the crown. Who is Umanga Kumawat?

There’s no time to waste if you are a Bengaluru techie, not even losing out on the coveted Miss Universe India crown. Days after she participated in the Miss Universe India 2026 national finale in Jaipur, Umanga Kumawat was back at Google’s Bengaluru office.

Out of 52 contestants, Umanga, who represented Madhya Pradesh, placed in the Top 20. At the final on August 23, Kaziah Liz Mejia of Kerala became victorious as the national champion. Umanga shared a one-minute "day in my life" video from the Google campus in Bengaluru on September 14 to give her fans an idea of what life is like after the pageant. The video depicts a typical workday, complete with work, emails, lunch, coffee breaks, and a workout.

Like many others, she struggles to decide what to wear when her day starts at 9:30 a.m. In the video, she picks up her laptop sleeve, bag, and earbuds before heading to Google while wearing a black top and bright red trousers.

Fitness Routine Before Work

In the video she shared, she was seen walking on the treadmill, then proceeded to do leg exercises and stretches. By 12:30 pm, she opens her laptop and documents.

A Delectable Lunch

Umanga also shared what the Google cafeteria serves for lunch. There are many delicious options like biryani and dessert, but she opted for a healthier option – noodle soup with greens. At 5:30 pm, she is seen heading to the Tea and Coffee section, ordering a cup of piping hot chai.

Umanga works as a cloud engineer at Google. According to her LinkedIn profile, her practical expertise is supported by a GCP certification, with her professional focus centred on using cloud technologies and keeping up with the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence.

She also has experience in application development and generative AI, where she uses emerging technologies to encourage innovation and expand the potential of intelligent systems. She shares her knowledge and insights through articles published on the Google Cloud Community. Umanga enjoys taking on unfamiliar challenges and believes that building strong professional connections can play an important role in fostering innovation.
