Actor Vidyut Jammwal is making all the right noises for his latest release, Street Fighter (October 16). The film, directed by Kitao Sakura, marks his Hollywood debut. Jammwal slipped into the shoes of the iconic, meditative, fire-breathing Indian yoga master Dhalsim in the live-action entertainer. Having worked in Bollywood action films too, Jammwal has now compared how Hollywood movie sets are different from their Indian counterparts, highlighting the importance given to discipline, punctuality and accountability.

Vidyut Jammwal on Bollywood vs Hollywood

Vidyut Jammwal, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, revealed that punctuality is non-negotiable in Hollywood. ‘On an international film set, the idea of being not on time does not exist,’ he stated, adding that an individual could be really famous and yet they cannot show up late on the sets. ‘Everyone values the same,’ noted the 45-year-old.

Elaborating further on the matter, Vidyut Jammwal shared that in Hollywood, everyone, be it an actor/actress, crew member, or a stylist, takes full responsibility for their own job. Giving an example, the actor said, ‘A stylist could not come and tell the artist that your hair is not right or vice versa. Not out of kindness also. Because it is the job of the hair person too.’

As per Vidyut Jammwal, these small habits and details influence the whole filmmaking process. The Commando actor admitted that the precision and legality in Hollywood movie sets was a different kind of experience for him. Jammwal, however, emphasised that Indians too are adept at shooting large-scale action sequences, working with some of the best talents. ‘In all my movies, we have the best international or Indian directors,’ he revealed.

Vidyut Jammwal’s last project

Vidyut Jammwal was last seen in director AR Murugadoss’ Madharaasi. The psychological action thriller was released in Tamil last year and was also dubbed in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film, headlined by Sivakarthikeyan, featured Jammwal as the prime antagonist. Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menon and Vikranth were also a part of the cast.
