About Mohanlal's Drishyam 3

Five years after the events of Drishyam 2, Georgekutty appears to have finally built a stable life. But his carefully constructed peace begins to crack when journalists, former police officers and people carrying old grudges start digging into the past. Questions about Varun's death resurface and Mohanlal's Georgekutty once again finds himself navigating suspicions. Meanwhile, his family now faces new threats, which includes an unsettling marriage proposal involving Anju and putting her at risk.

Drishyam 3: The Past Never Stays Silent, is a Malayalam-language crime drama written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas, the film continues the story established in Drishyam and Drishyam 2. Mohanlal returns as Georgekutty, alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Murali Gopy and Asha Sharath. The story takes place five years after the events of the second film. Georgekutty has turned the story of his past into a successful film and appears to have moved forward with his family. However, that apparent stability does not last.

Plot of Drishyam 3

As Georgekutty continues living with his family, renewed scrutiny threatens his carefully built life. Journalists Yami and Rony begin investigating the possible real-life inspiration behind the film and Varun’s death. Meanwhile, Georgekutty helps Jose and Mary rebuild their lives, while he and Rani search for a suitable match for their daughter Anju. However, their efforts are disrupted by anonymous callers, which leads Georgekutty to uncover a resentful ex-police officer behind this.

Things get tense after Rani spots suspicious activity near their plantation and Georgekutty discovers a refilled pit. Some one is secretly investigating him, while there's a larger plan to reopen the old case, which includes a strategy involving Anju’s marriage to Avira, a UAE-based businessman, and a staged incident designed to implicate her in his death and connect it to Varun’s case.

As the plan begins to unravel, Georgekutty is forced to act quickly.

Drishyam 3 box office performance

The Malayalam Drishyam 3 emerged as a commercial success, reportedly earning Rs 239 crore worldwide. The film became the highest-grossing instalment in the franchise and one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films ever made.

What about the Hindi version of Drishyam 3?

A Hindi adaptation titled Drishyam: The Conclusion is scheduled to release on October 2, 2026. The film is co-written, produced and directed by Abhishek Pathak and is being produced by Panorama Studios and Star Studio18. Ajay Devgn returns to the franchise, with Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav also starring in the film.

Will Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 and Ajay Devgn's movie meet same conclusion?

Unlike the earlier Hindi films, Drishyam: The Conclusion will tell an original story and will not be narratively connected to its Malayalam counterpart, as per reports .The October 2 release date also carries significance within the film's plot, adding another intriguing layer for audiences familiar with the franchise.
