After the massive success of Manjummel Boys, director Chidambaram has returned to the big screen with Balan: The Boy. The Malayalam thriller hit theatres on Friday and has opened to positive audience response. The film has managed to attract moviegoers over its first weekend, with collections showing growth on its second day. The thriller has shown encouraging signs at the box office. According to early estimates published by Sacnilk, Balan: The Boy earned Rs 2.35 crore net in India on its second day in theatres. This is a noticeable improvement from its opening-day collection of Rs 1.82 crore.


The rise in earnings represents a growth of around 29 per cent, suggesting that positive audience feedback may be helping the film draw larger crowds. The movie was screened across 1,208 shows on Saturday and witnessed better footfalls throughout the day.



After two days in theatres, Balan: The Boy has collected Rs 4.17 crore net in India. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 4.83 crore.

Audience turnout also improved significantly. Overall occupancy increased from 28.7 per cent on Day 1 to 38.3 per cent on Day 2. The Malayalam version performed particularly well, recording an overall occupancy of 42.83 per cent.

Morning shows started with an occupancy of 22.50 per cent before improving steadily through the day. Afternoon shows registered 35.50 per cent occupancy, while evening shows climbed to 43.42 per cent. The strongest response came during the night shows, which recorded an impressive 65.92 per cent occupancy, indicating strong interest among weekend audiences.
