Cocktail 2 box office collection day 2: Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon's rom-com enters Rs 50 crore mark worldwide

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Cocktail 2 has made a promising start at the box office. Directed by Homi Adajania, the romantic comedy has become Shahid Kapoor's second-biggest opener after Kabir Singh. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film witnessed a healthy jump in collections on its second day, indicating strong audience interest.

Cocktail 2 box office collection day-wise

The film continued its steady run on Saturday and crossed a major milestone within just two days of release. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Cocktail 2 earned Rs 16.25 crore net in India on Day 2 across 10,245 shows. With this, the film's total India net collection has reached Rs 29.75 crore.

On its fifth day in theatres, Cocktail 2 was being screened in 7,101 shows across the country and earned an estimated Rs 3.91 crore net during the day. With this, the film's total India gross collection has reached Rs 69.65 crore, while its India net collection stands at Rs 58.16 crore. The final Day 5 figures are still awaited, as reported by Sacnilk.

Positive word-of-mouth helps collections

While critical response to the film has been divided, audience reactions on social media appear to be working in its favour. Many viewers have praised the chemistry between the lead actors and the film's light-hearted take on modern relationships.

The strong growth on the second day suggests that positive word-of-mouth may be helping attract more viewers. Trade observers will now be watching closely to see whether the film records another jump on Sunday and finishes its opening weekend on a high note.

If the momentum continues, Cocktail 2 could post an impressive three-day total and establish itself as one of the stronger performers in the romantic-comedy genre in recent years.

What is Cocktail 2 about?

Cocktail 2 serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, bringing back Homi Adajania as director. The story revolves around Kunal, played by Shahid Kapoor, and Diya, portrayed by Rashmika Mandanna, who are deeply in love but uncertain about the idea of marriage.

Their relationship faces unexpected challenges during a vacation in Sicily when they reconnect with Diya's friend Ally, played by Kriti Sanon. As the trio spend more time together, insecurities begin to surface. Diya starts questioning whether Kunal is with her out of genuine love or simply a sense of responsibility. To test his loyalty, she encourages Ally to get closer to him, setting off a chain of events that complicates their lives.

The film explores themes of love, trust and commitment while blending romance with humour and drama. Apart from the lead trio, the film also features Pulkit Sharma and Tiku Talsania in important roles.


Ahead of the film's release, Shahid Kapoor spoke about the Central Board of Film Certification granting Cocktail 2 an Adult (A) certificate. During an interaction with fans, the actor admitted that he was surprised by the decision.

Shahid said he personally did not find anything in the film that would be considered objectionable for audiences. He described Cocktail 2 as a story about relationships and emotions that could be enjoyed by viewers of different age groups.
