‘Bachpan ke din…’: Asha Bhosle remembers Lata Mangeshkar, shares a cute childhood photo with Didi
In the photo, the two sisters can be seen in their toddler version.

In the caption of the photo, Bhosle recalled their childhood days together, and wrote, “Bachpan ke din bhi kya din the. Didi and I.” This is the first time that anyone from the Mangeshkar family has talked about the legendary singer, after her demise on Sunday.
Yesterday, 88-year-old Bhosle along with her family, and a host of celebrities and politicians paid her last respects to her late sister at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, where the legendary singer was cremated.
On Saturday evening, after Lata Mangeshkar was put back on the ventilator, Asha Bhosle visited her at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital. News agency ANI quoted Asha Bhosle saying, "The doctor has said that she is stable now."
Lata Mangeshkar, who had been at Breach Candy hospital for almost a month, was initially admitted with Covid infection, and pneumonia. However, after she recovered from the virus and the cold, her health was in a fragile state, and she was kept in the hospital so that the doctors could treat her for post-pneumonia and post-virus symptoms.
Apart from Bhosle, her granddaughter, Zanai, also paid her tribute to Mangeshkar. In an instagram post, Zanai wrote, “Humko mili hai aaj yeh ghadiyaan bahut naseeb se, thank you for the music, thank you for the love, hope I can make you proud too much lost but god has gained the nightingale of india. Nothing can make me prouder to be part of you and love you forever.”
Along with the caption, she shared a childhood photo of her with Mangeshkar.
Lata Mangeshkar's first cousin, Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure, is the maternal grandfather of actress Shraddha Kapoor. Therefore, she shares a close bond with both Mangeshkar and Bhosle, and calls them aaji. After Mangeshkar's demise, Kapoor attended her cremation at Shivaji Park and paid her homage to her 'aaji'. The actress had also visited Mangeshkar when she was admitted at the hospital, and reached the Mangeshkar residence at Peddar Road, as soon as the mortal remains of Mangeshkar was brought to her home, from hospital.
