Audio quality of the Audio Technica SR30BT it at par with the competition.

They are lightweight and have a good amount of padding on the earcups making them comfortable to wear.
Price: Rs 7,990

Specifications: Wireless over ear headphones, 40mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.0, 70 hours battery, 180 grams

Pros: Lightweight foldable design, exceptional battery life, comfortable to wear, rich output, good noise isolation

Cons: Does not support wired connection, microphone sensitivity could be better, lacks dual device connectivity

Audio Technica might not be the first brand that comes to mind when thinking of headphones, but that does not mean their products are any less. The latest ATH-SR30BT wireless headphones from them is proof that the company keeps the consumer needs in mind while launching a product. The headlining feature of the headphone is it’s up to 70 hours battery life on a single charge.

70 hours of battery life on a wireless headphone sounds like a gimmick at first. 70 hours means that if you use the headphone on a daily basis for 2 hours, it will last you for one month! We used the headphones for 3 weeks (2-3 hours daily, 5 days of the week, 75% volume level) and still had around 35% battery life left which means they would easily last another week of usage. This kind of battery life is unheard of on even premium headphone offerings.

The earcup can be folded as well as rotated - you can easily store them in a bag or a cabinet when not in use.

What surprised us more was that even with this incredible battery life, the headphones are not heavy or bulky. They are lightweight and have a good amount of padding on the earcups making them comfortable to wear. However, the headband could have do with better padding in our opinion. Also, the plastic matte finish with the logo engraving on earcups doesn’t feel premium – definitely does not look and feel like a headphone worth Rs 8,000. The good thing is that Audio Technica has worked hard on keeping the headphone sturdy and portable. The earcup can be folded as well as rotated - you can easily store them in a bag or a cabinet when not in use. Its left earcup has the charging port, volume buttons, multi-function button (music playback control, call accept/disconnect), LED indicator light and a slider button for power. There is also a good amount of noise isolation on the headphones thanks to the over the ear design. The lack of a 3.5mm aux jack is disappointing – you cannot use it in wired mode when battery runs out. However, considering its battery life, we doubt the need to connect via a wire would arise with the SR30BT.

The headphones dish out a good amount of bass without ruining the audio clarity which is a big win in our opinion.

Audio quality of the Audio Technica SR30BT it at par with the competition. We used the headphones with a Redmi Note 7S and a MacBook Air for music, videos, gaming as well as voice calls. It impresses with its overall volume output and has a wide soundstage – you will be able to enjoy any genre of music on this headphone. It even manages to handle the lower frequencies surprisingly well. The headphones dish out a good amount of bass without ruining the audio clarity which is a big win in our opinion. For videos there was no visible audio/video sync issue and for gaming also, the headphone worked well. When it comes to voice call, we feel the volume level could have been louder plus the microphone sensitivity is not up to the mark – voice was not audible to the person on the other end of the call unless we spoke loudly.

A few other things we felt missing was the option of connecting to two devices simultaneously, NFC for connectivity and a carry case in the box. That being said, there is no other headphone available today that even comes close to the battery life that the SR30BT delivers. For a lower price, you can consider the Sennheiser HD 4.4BT (Rs 5,990) that delivers slightly better bass, has NFC as well as 3.5mm jack for wired connection but gives 25 hours approx. battery life.
