Anand Mahindra's funny tweet on US-based death certification portal triggers meme fest

Twitter India's favourite businessman, Anand Mahindra, knows the secret to keeping his 9.5 million followers engaged. The best tool at his disposal is his epic sense of humour.

To drive away the mid-week blues, the Mahindra Group Chairman posted a screenshot of a death certification portal based in North Carolina, USA. The picture which went viral in minutes showed a question - 'Who is on the death certificate?'. Two options appeared on the online portal for generating death certificates - 'Myself' and 'Someone Else'.

His witty caption read, "So we’re not the only culture that believes in an afterlife…"



The 67-year-old's humorous thinking amused the Twitterati. Many fans comment on his post with memes and jokes on the US-based portal.

The businessman liked one comment so much that he couldn't resist retweeting it. It was a post by Former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army Sam Manekshaw's daughter Maja Daruwala.

In her post, the barrister from Lincolns Inn asked people to not scoff at the portal as she sometimes wakes up feeling 'quite dead'. "That is where the form comes in handy. I send it to the authorities and they remove me from the income tax list," her post read.


The post was retweeted nearly 3K times, quote-tweeted 350 times and liked by more than 27K people in two days.

While some decided to delve deep into the topic of the afterlife and death, some tried accessing the website to see if the 'Myself' option was still available.
