Anand Mahindra lauds Droupadi Murmu as she takes oath as President, calls her a 'person of extraordinary courage'

Droupadi Murmu, a native of Odisha, has created history after she became 15th President of India. She is the first President of India who belongs to the tribal community. The 64-year-old is being hailed as a beacon of hope for many from the tribal communities. The former Governor of Jharkhand has overcome several challenges and personal tragedies in her pursuit of social change.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra who is known for his insightful tweets took to his Twitter account to share his source of #MondayMotivation. The 67-year-old industrialist said that if one was looking for motivation they should not look further, as Murmu’s extraordinary courage and commitment to serve are exemplary.

The Mahindra boss went on to say that Murmu’s inner strength enabled her to withstand the challenges life has thrown at her. He said that he salutes her spirit and it was indeed a moment of intense pride for India.

Murmu took the oath as the 15th President of India on Monday. At 64, she is the youngest person to take oath as the President of India. “I want to say to the youth of our country that you are not only building your own future but also laying the foundation of future India. As the President of the country, I will always support you fully,” said Droupadi Murmu, the President of India.
