Tourists can also get to try tribal medicines, forest produce, tribal weapons, musical instruments, children’s toys and more. The small village has been established on 25 acres at the Mananthavady Tea Plantation Corporation.
En Ooru is considered to be the face of Wayanad tourism. According to the authorities, the main aim of the village is to offer tourists a glimpse of the life and culture of tribal communities. The village is managed by tribal communities from the district.
The village was reportedly completed at a cost of Rs 3 crore in phase 1, while the authorities have already set aside Rs 4 crore for the developments in Phase 2. The concept is the brainchild of Wayanad sub-collector N Prasanth.
