Amitabh Bachchan is known not only as an institution in Bollywood, but also a a fitness icon. At 83, he is fitter than ever and extremely energetic for his age. In an interview with the Humans Of Bombay, the superstar’s wellness trainer Vrindaa Mehta revealed that the ‘Sholay’ actor never misses out on a workout session and never compromises on his fitness regimen, no matter what.

“If Amitabh Bachchan can make time to exercise, normal people can too. The mindset is, when you know something is good for you, you just do it. It’s not about comfort, it’s not about not having time… If Mr. Bachchan can make time to exercise, regular people can, of course, take out time to exercise…” she said.

She also explained that the actor was big on yoga. From basic breathing exercises to pranayama and yoga stretches he has mastered everything.


In one of his earlier blog posts, Big B shared a glimpse to his daily diet. He revealed she started his day with something healthy such as protein shakes, almonds, porridge and coconut water. He said, “In my youth, I would eat, but now I have left eating non-veg dishes, sweet items, and rice, and won’t speak any further."

He further shared that his morning routine begins with a glass of gooseberry juice accompanied by a few dates, a combination he believes provides an energizing start to the day. To keep hunger at bay between meals and avoid unhealthy snacking, he prefers eating a handful of nutritious nuts, which help satisfy his cravings while supplying sustained energy.

According to the Financial Express, Mr. Bachchan follows a simple and balanced eating routine, choosing light meals throughout the day. His diet regularly includes fruits, dates, and almonds, while his lunch generally consists of cooked vegetables served with chapatis and a portion of lentils, reflecting his preference for wholesome, nutritious food.
