Amitabh Bachchan turned a year older today as he celebrated his 79th birthday. The megastar has a huge fan following, so it was no surprise that a huge crowd gathered outside his home to wish the veteran star on his birthday, and also possibly catch a glimpse of him.

After all, for his devoted fans, Bachchan's birthday is no less than any festival, and gathering outside his home, Jalsa in Mumbai to greet him , is a ritual followed by his fans each year.

And like every year, Bachchan obliged by stepping outside his bungalow to thank his fans for all the love and admiration. In a short video that's gone viral on the Internet, Bachchan, dressed in white kurta and pajama, appears outside the main gate of his house, surrounded by security. With folded hands, Big B greeted and thanked his fans for their kind wishes and waiting outside his house for him .


Starstruck fans from various cities queued up since early morning to wish the star in their own special ways. Many even carried sweets and huge posters of Big B along with them. Big B kickstarted his birthday celebrations by accepting an invite by his film 'Chehra' producer Anand Pandit to his penthouse for early celebrations.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the veteran star has back-to-back films lined-up . Big B will be next seen in 'Brahmastra', 'Goodbye', 'Jhund', and 'Mayday'.
