Amitabh Bachchan turns 79: Fans gather outside 'Jalsa' with songs and cake to celebrate the Big B
The actor also took to Instagram to post a picture ahead of his birthday.

Fans gathered outside megastar Amitabh Bachchan's 'Jalsa' residence before the crack of dawn to celebrate the Big B's 79th birthday.
The excited fans played his superhit songs and cut a cake outside his residence.
A fan named Sejal told news agency ANI, "We have come here from Bhiwandi to celebrate his birthday. We as fans are really fortunate that he is still keeping healthy and is among us all, while still delivering us great films and performances. Some of my favorite films include 'Silsila', 'Yaraana', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam', 'Don 'and 'Baghban'."
Earlier on Sunday, the 'Sholay' superstar posted a collage of three pictures showing him walking, with the caption, ".... Walking into the 80th."
The post received tremendous love from both the industy and his fans.
Ranveer Singh dropped a "Gangster" comment on the post.
The megastar's daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda wrote, "79th," with a heart emoji.
The four-time National Award-winning actor was born on October 11, 1942, in Prayagraj (Allahabad) to social activist Teji Bachchan and renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He made his Bollywood debut in 1969 with 'Saat Hindustani.'
Among his many honours, the Big B is also a recipient of the Padma Shri (in 1984), the Padma Bhushan (in 2001) and the Padma Vibhushan (in 2015).
