Known for his disciplined lifestyle and packed work schedule, Akshay made it clear that he has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. When asked if he had ever thought about retirement, the actor responded with his trademark humour.
Akshay Kumar's take on retirement
Imagining what life after films could look like, Akshay joked that retirement would simply mean taking up a long list of household responsibilities. He explained, "I do feel like retiring sometimes; this thought comes to me at 4 am when I wake up. But in five seconds, I remember I have to be on a shoot, where 300 people are waiting for me. Then I tell myself I will think about retirement the next day; 36 years have passed doing this. If I retire, what will happen.""I will become an electrician, dog walker, gardener, etc. So I feel it’s better if I go to work and not retire. I try to spend time with family. After one day, they asked me when will I return to work. I find the word retire very wrong. A person should retire five seconds before dying. If you want a long life, keep working," Akshay further added.
The actor suggested that going to work every day sounds far more appealing than sitting at home after retiring. His remarks left the audience laughing, but he continued to make light of the situation.
When someone pointed out that retirement would allow him to spend more time with his family, Akshay had another witty response. The actor joked that while his family might enjoy his company initially, they would likely ask him to return to work after a day or two.
Why Akshay dislikes the word 'retirement'
Behind the jokes, Akshay shared a more serious perspective on work and life. He said he has never been fond of the word "retire" and believes people should continue working for as long as they can.According to the actor, staying active and productive is important, and he encouraged people to keep working rather than looking forward to retirement. His comments reflected the philosophy that has defined much of his career, with Akshay remaining one of the industry's busiest stars despite decades in the business.

The phrase has caught attention since the trailer's release, leading some fans to wonder whether it was a reference to the actor's recent box-office struggles. However, Akshay clarified that viewers should see the dialogue in the context of the film and its character. He said movies often include lines that suit the story and should not always be interpreted as personal remarks. Thanking people for their concern, he urged audiences not to take such dialogues too seriously.
What is Welcome To The Jungle about?

His fortunes appear to change when he lands a new film opposite a successful actress played by Jacqueline Fernandez. However, the shoot soon turns chaotic when the cast and crew arrive in a village near the border. The locals mistake the actors for real soldiers and expect them to protect the village from a dangerous gang led by Jackie Shroff. The misunderstanding sets the stage for a series of comic adventures.
One of the highlights of the trailer is the reunion of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, whose comic chemistry has already become a major talking point among fans. The movie is slated to release on June 26.
