Veteran actor Anupam Kher looks fit and glowing at the age of 71. The ‘Kashmir Files’ star recently proved that age is indeed just a number, by posting a workout video on his Instagram. In the video, the actor can be seen executing lat pulldowns with remarkable concentration and determination.

He maintained excellent technique throughout the exercise, activating his back muscles effectively through slow, controlled, and precise repetitions that highlighted both his strength and disciplined training approach. The video went viral with many fans gushing about the actor’s fitness and endurance levels.

In two older interviews, the actor open up about his diet. In a chat with Curly Tales, the Hum Aapke Hai Kaun star revealed he starts his day with some sabja seeds which have been soaked overnight. He often has a bowl of chia seed bowl with nuts, seeds, coconut milk, and dates for breakfast. His lunch and dinner usually consists of sabzi (vegetable) and jowar ki roti.

As per a Healthline report, chia seeds are packed with fibre, protein, omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus. They also have a lot of antioxidants such as quercetin, chlorogenic acid
caffeic acid, myricetin which is said to have beneficial impact on heart and liver. Since it is a source rich in fibre, it also supports weight loss as fibre makes you feel fuller (and reduces tendency of overeating) and improves metabolism.

“For meals, I take one sabzi and jowar ki roti which is not very tasty,” he said.

At the interview, he ignored the Pan-Asian food like dim sums, stir fry etc and ate home-cooked meal which consisted of bhindi, daal and roti.

Recently, the actor also shared a video of him working out on Instagram. He shared a caption: "Working out doesn’t just strengthen my body, it centers my mind. It gives me a sense of peace, sharper focus, and a quiet discipline that stays with me long after the session ends. And putting it out there… sharing my workout videos publicly… adds another layer. It keeps me accountable. It pushes me to show up, even on days when I don’t feel like it. Because sometimes, commitment is not just personal… it becomes a promise you make in front of the world."

Fans admired his unwavering dedication and positive attitude, describing his achievement as a source of powerful inspiration. Many pointed out that the discipline required to maintain a fitness routine often extends beyond the gym, helping individuals develop resilience, determination, and mental strength in their daily lives.

Among the many reactions, one admirer remarked that his commitment was genuinely inspiring, especially considering his age, praising him for continuing to push forward and remain active when many others might have chosen a more relaxed lifestyle.

The movie narrated the story of Tanvi Raina, a 21-year-old with autism. Motivated by the memory of her late father, Captain Samar Raina, a dedicated officer in the Indian Army, Tanvi develops a strong resolve to carry forward his unfulfilled aspiration. Her father had always cherished the dream of serving at the Siachen Glacier and proudly saluting the national flag there. Determined to honor his legacy and turn his vision into reality, Tanvi sets her sights on a military career.

The movie received mixed responses from critics and did not perform well at the box-office.

Health Benefits Of Jowar (Sorghum)

As per a WebMD article, sorghum is a superfood, rich in many nutrients such as iron, potassium, thiamin, vitaminB6, manganese and magnesium. It is also gluten-free.

It Is Great For Preventing Inflammation

Sorghum is known to be rich in phenolic compounds which is said to be anti-inflammatory.

Can Reduce Risk Of Cancer

The tannins in jowar has been linked to reduction in risk of breast cancer. Another phenolic compound - 3-deoxyanthocyanidins has been known to fight against cancerous cells.

Can Aid Weight Loss

The carbohydrates present in sorghum are broken down more slowly by the human digestive system than those found in many other grains. Because of this, sorghum can promote a lasting feeling of fullness and satiety, making it a valuable component of a balanced diet.

Research has suggested that sorghum may offer benefits for weight management and appetite control. In one study involving individuals with obesity, participants who consumed approximately one-third of a cup of sorghum each day for eight weeks experienced a greater reduction in body fat compared with those who consumed wheat-based foods.

Great For Reducing Diabetes

Sorghum can inhibit a process called protein glycation and reduce insulin resistance in people with high blood sugar.

Boosts Energy

Sorghum ranks among the richest natural sources of B vitamins, a group of essential nutrients that play a vital role in the body's energy-production process. These vitamins help the body convert the carbohydrates consumed through food into usable energy, allowing cells, muscles, and organs to function efficiently throughout the day.

In India, jowar costs Rs 80 per kg.
