Amid its massive success, a new series based on Neem Karoli Baba has now been announced.

Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV have announced a new mytho-fiction series inspired by Neem Karoli Baba’s life, teachings and the extraordinary experiences associated with the revered saint. While the makers have released the first promo, they are keeping most details about the show under wraps for now.

The first promo sets a mysterious tone without revealing the cast or giving away the storyline. Instead, it introduces viewers to a spiritual world connected to Neem Karoli Baba and the stories associated with his life.

The visuals feature the saint’s trademark shawl and references to Lord Hanuman. SonyLIV shared the promo on social media and announced that the series will be coming soon to both Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV.

However, the makers are yet to announce an exact premiere date. Details such as the cast, number of episodes and the broader storyline are also yet to be revealed.

Released on August 7, the film turned into an unexpected box office success. Rather than opening with the numbers of a conventional big-budget release, Hanuman Ansh grew steadily as more viewers discovered the film.

The movie was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 1.8 crore. According to trade website Sacnilk, it crossed the Rs 300 crore net mark in India on its 52nd day. Its India gross had reached Rs 362.70 crore, while its overseas gross crossed Rs 38 crore. By Day 54, the film’s worldwide collection stood at around Rs 408 crore, according to the figures cited.

The film’s continued theatrical run has also helped bring more attention to the story and teachings associated with Neem Karoli Baba.

What is Hanuman Ansh about?

Directed by Dr Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is a biographical drama inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba. The film is based on Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life.

Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand play the lead roles in the movie, which presents a dramatic account inspired by the revered saint’s life.
