Actor Vikram hospitalised after suffering heart attack, condition stable now: Reports

The actor is undergoing treatment at the Kauvery hospital in Chennai.

Reports suggest that Chiyaan Vikram felt discomfort on Thursday and was rushed to the hospital in Chennai.
A day after 'Ponniyin Selvan' posters were revealed, reports surfaced on Twitter of Chiyaan Vikram having suffered a heart attack. The actor, who plays the lead in the Mani Ratnam directorial - 'Ponniyin Selvan: I' also known as PS-I - is undergoing treatment at the Kauvery hospital in Chennai.

Southern media reported that the actor had undergone an angioplasty on Thursday, and his condition was now stable.
The actor was supposed to attend the teaser launch of the upcoming Tamil period action drama film directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam scheduled to happen later today in Chennai. The superstar, who last collaborated with Ratnam on 'Raavanan', will be seen playing Aditya Karikalan in 'PS-I'. Karikalan is the crown prince and the commander of northern troops in the Sundara Chola's reign. The first part of the film is all set to hit the theatres on September 30.


Apart from 'PS-I', the actor will also be seen in 'Cobra' and film-maker Pa Ranjith's upcoming film. The actor was last seen in 'Mahaan' alongside his son Dhruv Vikram. The film directed by 'Petta' fame Karthik Subbaraj premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
