‘1 hour for just 9 km’: Bengaluru content creator calls out heavy traffic after rain; expresses frustration at waterlogging, potholes

Bengaluru witnessed heavy showers and thunderstorms yesterday night, September 28. Normal life was disrupted in several parts of the city, including Malleswaram, Basavanagudi, Town Hall, Anjanapura, Gottigere, Avalahalli, Konanakunte, RBI Layout and Banashankari, where waterlogging, potholes and fallen trees posed a major challenge to commuters. Along similar lines, Bengaluru-based content creator Vish Key dropped a post on X, sharing his ordeal of navigating through the flooded streets and heavy traffic jams. He called out the authorities to take immediate action.

The content creator uploaded 2 images to his post, which depicted the extremity of the situation. The first one was a screenshot of Google Maps depicting a long stretch of road clogged with traffic, as indicated by the red line. The other picture captured stagnant vehicles on the road.

Vish was travelling via the HSR - Agara Lake - Kadubeesanahalli. He claimed that a 9 km ride took him nearly an hour, highlighting the ‘insane traffic jam and flooding’ on the Outer Ring Road. Additionally, Vish highlighted the problem of potholes and waterlogging, claiming that it was dangerous for 2-wheelers.


Vish concluded his post by urging the authorities to take necessary steps for the well-being of commuters moving through the difficult road conditions. He even requested them to get the potholes fixed as soon as possible. The post soon received multiple reactions, with several users agreeing with the content creator.

Another Bengaluru resident had a similar experience

Back in August, a user, Souveek Roy, faced a similar problem. He revealed that he and his team decided to drop off some products at a nearby store before heading back, which would have taken about 25 minutes. But the journey turned into a 1.5-hour ordeal despite the distance being only 3 kms.

In a video that Souveek posted on Instagram, he revealed that a 1 km distance took him 45 minutes. This prompted him and his team to leave their car at the store and walk back home. The user further slammed the poor road conditions, highlighting how they were affecting regular businesses.
