IIT Roorkee students land 274 offers in first two days of placements

MUMBAI: The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has received 274 offers on Day 1 and Day 2 of final placements taking the total tally this season to over 400 offers including PPOs. The institute received 13 international offers from Microsoft Redmond, Webstaff Co. Ltd. and Mercari.

Out of the 274 offers, 92 were core sector and 182 were non- core sectors offers. Some of the companies which have visited the campus for placements so far are Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Mercari, Uber, Tower Research, Schlumberger, ISRO, ONGC, Webstaff Co. Ltd., Qualcomm, Oracle, Flipkart, Walmart, JP Morgan, Samsung among others. So far around 9 start-up companies and 2 PSU companies have participated in the placements so far.

Prof. N. P. Padhy, Placement In-charge, IIT Roorkee said in a statement: “This is one of the best starts and we hope to capitalize on it and end on a new high.”

This year, 240 companies have already registered till date and more companies are lined up for registrations.
