NEW DELHI: The number of new subscribers joining the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) rose to its highest in May since the government started releasing the numbers going back September 2017.

The data showed 7.45 lakh new subscribers in May. Of these, over 4.51 lakh were below the age group 25 years which is considered as new employment or job creation.

Since September, the data shows, nearly 45 lakh new subscribers joined the private sector social security scheme.


Over 30 lakh of these were below 25 years of age. The government statement showed 12.75 lakh new additions to ESIC.
