Pooja Sharma is managing director - HR Talent Operations at Accenture Technology. In an interaction with TechGig, she shares five things that kept her in good stead over the years. "This list has evolved as I worked with people across cultures," she says.

1. Invest in personal growth. Focus on your health and stay fit.

2. Be clear and specific about what you want out of your professional and personal life. Unless you don't state it clearly, people around you will not know how to support you in your hunt for success.

3. Never feel guilty about the choices you make. Just ensure that your choices align with your priorities but also remember that priorities change with time and different life stages.

4. Keep your support network intact. Actively invest in building a network and you will be pleasantly surprised with the support and counsel you get.
