Akasa Air has crossed the milestone of carrying over 25 million passengers within just over 42 months of starting operations, becoming the fastest Indian airline to achieve the feat, the company said on Wednesday.

The airline, which began operations in August 2022, said the achievement reflects its strong growth trajectory and increasing customer preference in India’s competitive aviation market. It has consistently reported among the highest passenger load factors (PLF) in the industry, indicating robust demand and network efficiency.

Akasa Air currently operates a fleet of 35 aircraft and has placed an order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX planes, with the majority scheduled for delivery over the next six years. The airline said this expansion will support its plans to tap rising domestic and international travel demand.
