Owing to rising transactions from mobiles, it decided to leverage the platform or the sale, which is called `The Great Indian Getaway'.MakeMyTrip is expecting a fivefold surge in traffic during the app-only sale, a company executive said.
A substantial chunk of the marketing budget would be used for offering discounts, apart from meeting advertising costs. "We have been gaining a lot of traction from the mobile website and app. About 45% of transactions are from mobile, and we believe that future of travel-buying experience is on this platform. We are focused on strengthening mobile technology and have been enhancing our systems," said Rajesh Magow, co-founder and CEO, MakeMyTrip.
