Fragrance brand Maison D'Arome has launched in India with a range of premium perfumes that it says combine luxury quality with accessible pricing, as demand for high-end scents grows in the country.

The brand is targeting consumers who see perfume as an expression of personal style and not just a grooming product. The company says its fragrances are made with carefully selected ingredients and are designed to have depth, character and lasting power.

Growing market

India's perfume market is projected to grow from US2.35billionin2024toUS4.08 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research. That works out to a compound annual growth rate of about 9.6% between 2025 and 2030. Premium fragrances are expected to be the fastest-growing segment.

The company says this growth is being driven by rising consumer aspirations, especially in metropolitan and Tier-2 cities. Buyers are increasingly looking for perfumes that offer luxury, quality and value together, it adds.

The perfume industry in India is fragmented, with international luxury brands competing alongside domestic manufacturers, according to IMARC Group. The firm estimates that premium perfumes made up about 58% of the Indian perfume market in 2025, while women's fragrances accounted for around 52%.

Rising incomes, faster urbanisation and a growing middle class are pushing up demand, IMARC says. It adds that social media and celebrity endorsements have also played a big role in building brand awareness in the Indian perfume market.

Millennials and younger consumers are driving demand, according to a Brickwork Ratings report on the fragrance industry in India. The report also points to the growth of online retail and a gifting culture that goes beyond festive seasons as factors adding to sales.

Global fragrance houses are paying attention. French luxury perfumer Diptyque opened its first store in India at Chanakya Mall in New Delhi in December 2024, according to IMARC, which cited the move as a sign of rising demand for premium and niche perfumes.

The industry also faces hurdles. Counterfeit products continue to hold back the Indian perfume market, according to Technavio. Many buyers still pick low-priced options, which limits the share of premium brands, according to a Research and Markets report. Maison D'Arome is pitching its range at buyers looking for luxury at accessible prices.

Ashim Bhat, founder of Maison D'Arome, said the brand wants to make luxury more affordable without cutting corners.

"Fragrance is one of the most powerful expressions of personal style. Just as the clothes you wear reflect your personality, the perfume you choose becomes an extension of who you are. At Maison D'Arome, we believe luxury should not be defined by its price tag. Everyone deserves to experience a beautifully crafted fragrance without having to pay an extravagant price," Bhat said.

He added that the focus is on making luxury perfumes more accessible without compromising on quality, craftsmanship or sophistication.

The collection has fragrances for different personalities, moods and occasions, blending timeless notes with a contemporary feel. It is available on the brand's website, maisondarome.com, and on Amazon and Myntra.

As part of its long-term growth strategy, Maison D'Arome plans to expand its portfolio and build its presence through premium retail partnerships. It also plans to explore international markets.
