Hartmann opens maiden store in Bengaluru; plans five more by 2015-end

BENGALURU: Hartmann, a global luxury luggage maker, today opened its maiden store in India with a boutique at the UB City Mall here and unveiled plans to open 5 additional stores across major metros in India by end of 2015.

The American luxury luggage brand with a longstanding heritage of over 135 years chose Bengaluru as its debut city, as the modern yet luxurious commercial district is the perfect location for this high-end brand, Samsonite Global CEO Ramesh Tainwala said.

The new boutique, designed by New-York based design firm Gensler, showcass the finest of Hartmann's creations,including a curated selection of products in various categories, he said.

Talking about expansion plans, Tainwala said Hartmann India has plans to open five additional stores across major metros in India by the end of 2015. Hartmann has been making exquisitely crafted luggage, travel cases and fine leather goods for over 135 years.
