Buyouts Galore: Delhi startups Wingify, Zomato acquire global companies like Concept Feedback, Gastronauci

NEW DELHI: Delhi based Website performance testing startup Wingify on Tuesday acquired US-based Concept Feedback, a community platform of user experience (UX) experts for online.

The acquisition was funded out of bootstrapped Wingify’s coffers. The buyout comes on the same day when Gurgaon-based Zomato acquired Poland's restaurant search company Gastronauci.
The buyouts indicate growing influence of India’s startups over global tech community. It also indicates their expansion into developed markets, which are often fast to adopt tech based platforms. As part of the acquisition, Delhi based Wingify will gradually integrate Concept Feedback with its own website testing platform called Visual Website Optimizer (VWO), which is used by companies such as Microsoft and Yatra Online.

“VWO was built to remove the barrier of technical expertise limitations in website testing, a major pain point for any brand looking to optimize their business online,” said Paras Chopra, Founder and CEO at Wingify, who is in the US to oversee the acquisition.

“Concept Feedback is at the forefront of the website design community,” said Andrew Follett, founder and CEO of Concept Feedback. “Over the past five years, we’ve built a resource that fulfills an unmet need for brands. Having our community under the Wingify banner is a logical step for us because of our shared vision to improve brands’ website performance,” Follet said.

On the other hand, Zomato's Poland acquisition is fourth in a row buyout, in three months. The company has acquired New Zealand-based MenuMania became, Czech based Lunchtime and Slovakia based Obedovat restaurant search guides in last three months.
