Adidas India brand director Tushar Goculdas to get global role

Global sporting goods giant Adidas is set to name Adidas India brand director Tushar Goculdas as its new brand director for emerging markets.

NEW DELHI: German sportswear major adidas has appointed Tushar Goculdas as Brand Director-adidas, Emerging Markets, with effect from March 1, 2015.

Goculdas, who is currently Brand Director adidas India, will be based out of Dubai as part of his new assignment.

"Tushar will be responsible for strengthening and growing the adidas brand and reinforcing the brand's connection with consumers and athletes within adidas emerging markets, comprising the Middle East, Africa, part of Eastern Europe and the Indian subcontinent," adidas said in a statement.

In his new role, he will report directly to Osman Ayaz, Managing Director of the Emerging Markets-adidas Group, it added.

Goculdas succeeds Dave Thomas, who was recently appointed as the new Managing Director for adidas Group India.

He has led the marketing function at adidas India since October 2008 where he strengthened and grew the brand by making significant enhancements to adidas' athlete portfolio, the statement said.

Before joining adidas, Goculdas worked at Boston Consulting Group, Colgate-Palmolive and Whirlpool. He is an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad and Delhi College of Engineering.

His successor at adidas India will be announced in the near future, the company said.
