Aptech targets 30% business from non-technical training

Aptech recently signed an agreement with Hindustan Unilever subsidiary Lakme to set up 100 beauty training academies across India.The first such academy opened in Ahmedabad.

PUNE: Aptech, one of India’s oldest computer education companies, is diversifying into skills training and expects non-technical skills training to account for 25-30% of its business over the next three years, managing director Ninad Karpe has told ET. “Over time, we want to cover all possible career segments, from IT to beauty,” Karpe said. “This segment (non-tech) is still small but we see it growing rapidly.”

Aptech recently signed an agreement with Hindustan Unilever subsidiary Lakme to set up 100 beauty training academies across India.The first such academy opened in Ahmedabad.

The company has also entered into an agreement with former Shoppers Stop MD BS Nagesh’s TRRAIN Foundation of Retail to train people for jobs in organised retail. Besides, it has also started providing training for ecommerce firms, hospitality and airport ground management.
