AI becomes a practical support system
The report, powered by Kantar, highlights a shift in how Gen Z uses AI. Instead of treating it as a new trend, users are relying on it for everyday needs. “AI is my tech buddy to getting stuff done I use AI like a buddy for studying, work tasks, and quick problem-solving - brain boost, minus the stress.”
The data shows that this behaviour is consistent across survey periods, with sample sizes ranging from 741 to 1,534 respondents. AI is being used to support studying, workplace tasks, and quick decision-making, indicating its growing role as a routine tool.

AR shapes shopping and decision-making
Augmented reality is influencing how Gen Z evaluates products before making purchases. According to the study, 66% of respondents said AR tools help them understand how a product works better than regular images or videos.
In addition, 62% of respondents said AR product demos feel more believable and trustworthy. These findings show that AR is becoming a key factor in building confidence during the buying process.
The report also notes that AR tools are widely used for content creation. Features such as filters, lenses, and effects allow users to create shareable content quickly.
This reduces the effort required to produce engaging content and makes digital expression easier. As a result, AR is now integrated into everyday communication among Gen Z users.

Technology moves from trend to routine
The consistency in responses across multiple survey waves indicates that this shift is stable and not temporary.
Overall, the findings suggest that Gen Z is adopting technology with a practical approach. AI and AR are being used to simplify tasks, improve productivity, and support decision-making.
The study shows that for this generation, the value of technology lies in its usefulness in daily life, rather than in following trends.
