Steve king worldwide CEO, and John Taylor worldwide director - client services, Zenith Optimedia shared the stage in a presentation aptly titled The Perfect Storm. The presentation was high on statistical soundbytes - for instance by 2008, the number of online gamers is set to exceed the population of the UK.
Commenting on the ubiquity of new media, Taylor said even a country like Ethiopia was spending 10 per cent of its GDP on a broadband satellite and internet systems, allowing many of those markets to advance directly into broadband before they managed fixed lines.
He said, "Consumers are far more empwered in terms of media." Navigating the perfect storm would involve "new partnerships, new ways of doing business," according to Taylor, citing the example of Publicis's thought leadership focussed.
