Amazon is top ecommerce advertiser

It was the No. 1 advertiser on TV in the first half of calendar 2016, up from fifth position during the same period last year.

In both TV and print media, Amazon’s share in overall ad volume is highest among ecommerce players, according to AdEx data from TAM. It was the No. 1 advertiser on TV in the first half of calendar 2016, up from fifth position during the same period last year. In print media, too, Amazon stood first, jumping from fourth place last year. In the voice segment, its share is now 21% as compared to 9% in the first half of calendar 2015. Amazon’s rise has also seen a reduction in media buying by arch rival Flipkart.
