Viewership in first week of Pro Kabaddi League’s third season up 36% over season two

The league also saw a 33% increase in total minutes viewed on Hotstar, Star India’s digital platform over the first 11 days of PKL’s season 3.

NEW DELHI: Viewership in the first week of Pro Kabaddi League’s third season saw a 36% jump over the previous season that was played in July last year, according to official broadcaster Star which quoted data from Broadcast Audience Research Council.

While viewership at all India urban level increased by 36% from 54.5 TVMs in season 2 to 74 TVMs in season 3, Rural India delivered 135 TVMs for its first week in season 3.

The league also saw a 33% increase in total minutes viewed on Hotstar, Star India’s digital platform over the first 11 days of PKL’s season 3.

The league saw a 254% growth compared to last season on Twitter.

“No other sport has grown so fast and gained such wide and deep following with fans across urban and rural India, across audience segments – men, women and kids and across screens (television and digital),” says Uday Shankar, chief executive officer of Star India.
