L&T plans to hire 1,100 engineers across business verticals in 2021

Bengaluru: L & T Group is looking to hire about 1,100 graduate and post-graduate engineer trainees next year.

The new recruits will be deployed in critical roles like business development, strategy, design, contract management, project management and construction management, among others.

The company has already released around 250 offers to students from multiple Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), including IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, IIT BHU, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, among others.


The conglomerate continued to hire from institutes throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and introduced its internally built online hiring platform to facilitate 100% remote recruitment.

The employees will be put through a three-week induction programme, which inducts fresh talent into the business and functional aspects of the organisation and imparts experiential learning and hands-on technical sessions.

“We believe in nurturing and grooming young talent. Our graduate engineer training (GET) programme has several alumni and leaders serving in leadership positions at the company,” SN Subrahmanyan, CEO, Larsen & Toubro, told ET.

“The diversity of our businesses and the scale of operations, with a wide array of engineering, construction, technology, defence and services projects, opens up multiple domain avenues of career growth for employees,” he added.

L&T has more than 45,000 employees across 30 countries and multiple businesses.
