Bosch Bangalore plant 'tool down' strike called off
German auto component giant Bosch said employees union at its plant here has called off tool down strike after arriving at an agreement.
"The employee union of Bosch Limited, Bangalore - MEA (MICO Employee's Association) has called off its illegal tool down strike after arriving at an agreement with the management on November 18, with the support of Additional Labour Commissioner," the company said in a release.
The employees resumed work starting from the first shift of today, it said.
Employees of Bosch from its Bangalore Plant in Adugodi had gone on a tool down strike on November 14 opposing the disciplinary action against a workman, also Union office- bearer, for allegedly indulging in a verbal and physical abuse against an officer on the shop floor-regarding issuing of gate-pass for early exit without valid explanation.
The company had called the strike illegal. Bosch said that based on a written assurance from the Union that it will not encourage any violence, and "the deep regret" for the incident expressed by the concerned workman, the management decided to close the charge sheet.
"The concerned workman, who is also a union office bearer, expressed his regret in the presence of the Additional Labour Commissioner," it added.
