Energy Management company Schneider Electric India said it would double business in North East in the next 3-4 years.

GUWAHATI: Energy Management company Schneider Electric India said it would double business in North East in the next 3-4 years.

"North East is witnessing huge investments both from government and private sectors in the power and infrastructure sectors. On the back of that, we are expecting to double our business in this region in the next 3-4 years," Schneider Electric India Regional Head-East (Energy and Power) Saibal Chaudhry told reporters.

He, however, did not share details of the current contribution from the region.

"The region is expecting around Rs 1,500 crore investment in the 3-4 years from the government side. These will be mainly in transmission and utility products, and by the power distribution firms to expand electrification," Chaudhry said.

Similarly, there would be investments from the private sector entities as well, he added.

Schneider Electric India Director (Marketing Communication) Gaurav Burman said the North East region's contribution to the company's overall national revenue is "in single digit per cent" but hopes to increase it soon.
