Power generation resumes at KNPP

Power generation resumed at the Kundankulam Nuclear Power Plant-unit I today, a week after it was stopped due to a leakage in a steam pipe, a senior official said.

TIRUNELVELI ( TAMIL NADU): Power generation resumed at the Kundankulam Nuclear Power Plant-unit I today, a week after it was stopped due to a leakage in a steam pipe, a senior official said.

KNPP site director R S Sundar said the power generation touched 100 MW within an hour it resumed functioning this morning and 250 MW this afternoon.

Power generation at the KNPP, an Indo-Russian collaborative venture, was stopped on February 16 due to leakage in a steam pipe and started today after rectification of the pipe, he said.
